Captain Jalen Auer is the Operations Flight Commander, Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC), Detachment 215 at Bloomington, Indiana. He is responsible for AFROTC cadet classroom instruction and cadet wing operations for the Detachment.
Capt Auer received his commission in May 2016 through Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) at Indiana State University. He completed Undergraduate Pilot Training in 2018 and was selected to fly the UH-1N “Huey”. He served as an Instructor Pilot and Operations Supervisor on the UH-1N for the 54th Helicopter Squadron, Minot AFB. Capt Auer was hand-picked by Air Force Global Strike Command as a Subject Matter Expert for the development of future MH-139 Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures.
At his first operational assignment, Capt Auer held multiple leadership and strategic planning positions, including Chief of Weapons and Tactics, Mission Commander, Chief Program Manager, and Chief of Plans and Exercises.
