CAPTAIN DUSTIN T. SCHIMP
Capt Dustin T. Schimp is the Recruiting Flight Commander, Air
Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), Detachment
215 at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. He is
responsible for classroom instruction of AFROTC cadets as
well as recruiting operations for the Detachment.
After enlisting into the Air Force Reserve in May of 2000,
Captain Schimp completed Basic Military Training and Security
Forces technical training in September of 2001. After 9/11, he
was activated and served as a Security Forces journeyman at
Grissom Air Reserve Base (ARB) until he retrained into
Combat Arms in early 2002. In September 2003, he completed
the Dynamics of International Terrorism course at Hurlburt
Field, FL. From 2006 to 2008, he was activated and served at
RAF Croughton in England in the Security Forces squadron
there, before returning to Grissom and being selected for the
Deserving Airman Program in 2010. After his commission in
2011, he completed Undergraduate Cyberspace Training and joined Grissom’s Communications
Squadron to become its Operations Officer. Starting August 2016, Captain Schimp was selected to enter
active duty to serve at AFROTC Detachment 215 as Recruiting Flight Commander.
