CAPTAIN MATTHEW S. HEIL
Captain Matthew S. Heil is the Operations Flight Commander,
Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), Detachment
215 at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. In this
capacity, Captain Heil trains, mentors, advises and prepares
highly capable young men and women to serve as future
officers and leaders of the Air Force
Captain Heil is a 2008 graduate of North Dakota State
University and received his commission through Air Force
ROTC, Detachment 610. He has served as a developmental
engineer for multiple Air Force Research Laboratory efforts, as
a program manager for the Battlefield Airmen System Program
Office, and has held multiple assignments as an executive
officer. Prior to his current assignment, Captain Heil was part
of the 724th Special Tactics Group Combat Development
Directorate where he led rapid development and procurement
of time sensitive capabilities for operators in the Special
Tactics career fields.
Captain Heil assumed his present position in July 2016.
