BIOGRAPHY
UNITED STATES AIR FORCE
LT COL RUSSELL C. CALLAWAY
Lt Col Russ Callaway is the commander of the
AFROTC DET 215, ‘Wild Aces’, and Professor of
Aerospace Studies at Indiana University. As commander,
he leads the recruiting, training, motivating, education and
evaluation of Indiana University’s Air Force officer
candidates. Additionally, he supports two cross-town
universities, Butler University and Indiana University,
Purdue University Indiana. He is the senior Air Force
officer on campus with dual responsibilities as detachment
commander and Chairman of the Department of Aerospace
Studies. Lieutenant Colonel Callaway is responsible for
determining who is accepted, trained, and ultimately
commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force.
Lt Col Callaway is from Brookston, IN. He was commissioned November 1998 through Officer
Training School. He has served as a squadron commander, section commander, flight
commander, executive officer and as a staff officer at Air Education and Training Command and
the Air Force Personnel Center. His experience is in legacy personnel arenas at growing levels
of responsibility.
